Armaco Makes It Four

As a half-brother to Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Mossfun, five-year-old Aramco does have a lot to live up to, and although he may never reach the heights of his half-sister, he is proving a consistent galloper in Singapore for the Shane Baertschiger stable.

Secured privately by Premier Racing partnership from Australia, Friday night’s victory by Aramco was his fourth from nine starts in Singapore in career that he seen him never finish further back than fourth!

With John Powell in the saddle, Armaco was allocated barrier 11 of 11 and after jumping away with the field, he drifted back to be third last while Eclipse Splash pushed forward to take up the running and ensure a solid pace up front.

Slowly creeping along the rail, as the field reached the home turn, Aramco was a few lengths from the tiring leader who drifted off the rail and the son of Magic Albert pounced, charging through to take the lead and hold off the late charge of the runner-up Clarton Super to win by a half-length, with the weakening leader Eclipse Splash holding on to take third, a further length and quarter back.

Armaco joins the likes of Group 1 performer Elite Excalibur and Arr Flair as recent private purchases by the PRP team to salute in Singapore.
