Horse In Training Double For Premier Racing Partnership

Kicking off with Marine Treasure in the third race at the Singapore Turf Club on Sunday night, the Premier Racing Partnerships purchase recorded his third victory.

Secured from the Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale on the Gold Coast, Manhattan Rain gelding Marine Treasure was wearing the second set of PRP silks on Sunday over the 1100m on the Polytrack.

Urged out of the barrier by jockey John Powell, the Shane Baertschiger-trained Marine Treasure went to the lead where he maintained a solid tempo.

Sitting a length clear of the field, as they turned for home it appeared as if fellow PRP runner Premier Fighter would be the challenger, but coming even wider was the James Peters-trained Biraz who mounted a solid challenge, but Marine Treasure packed too much punch, as he scored a half-length win.

Over two lengths back in third was River Gold, with Premier Fighter weakening late to take fifth in what was a solid effort.

Two races later, the Steven Burridge-trained Greatballs Of Fire, a son of Casino Prince, produced the fourth win of his career.

Secured from the draft of Attunga Stud at the Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale, a year prior to Marine Treasure, Greatballs Of Fire has been in solid form, finishing in the top five from his previous six starts.

With Michael Rodd in the saddle, Greatballs Of Fire went back from barrier 13 of 14 to settle in last position on the rail.

Bidding his time back in the pack, it was a masterful ride by Rodd who had the gelding full of running,  but just needing gaps to appear.

When the field fanned into the home straight, Greatballs Of Fire was still in last position, but the gaps were starting to appear.

At the 300m mark, Rodd found himself pulling off the leaders heels to make a challenge, letting down extremely well to charge away for an impressive two and a quarter lengths from Tenma, with a further length and a half to the third placed Archer Company.

Marine Treasure and Greatballs of Fire were purchased for a total of A$115,000, with the pair earning over S$300,000 to date, with more to come.
